Home minister’s India visit timely, productive: Envoy

3rd India Education Fair kicks off at The Daily Star Center

Mentioning the visit of home minister of Bangladesh very timely and productive Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla says they are discussing on bilateral issues including counter terrorism.

“India and Bangladesh are neigbouring countries. We are friends, we are partners,” he said today after inaugurating two daylong 3rd India Education Fair held at the capital’s The Daily Star Center.

“What happens with you, it happens to us and vice versa. We need to work together in any of these issues,” he said.

In his two day visit Home Minister Azaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed bilateral issues, including the current situation in Bangladesh.

Replying to a question that how India will co-operate Bangladesh on security issues, Harsh Vardhan said, “You’ve a problem today which could become our problem. We’ve problem, it could become your problem. So, we are working closely together and we will continue to work together to address many of the common problems that reflect [interest of] both of our countries.”

“I think very good cooperation is already existed,” he added.

A total of 35 premier educational institutions including schools, colleges and technical institutes across India are participating in the event.

Some these schools are also offering scholarships to the meritorious students also at the fair.
