Requiem for a Confession

In your mind, a seed of doubt,

Will grow into a tree,

Cut it down, don't let it sprout

Then go and set it free.

Up again in the valley of the night,

By the frozen blue lake,

There you will find the heavenly light,

Speeding in your wake.

They will speak of your crime and deed,

But stay there in the valley, high,

Stick by your laws and creed

And let their gossip pass by.

There in the valley you shall find,

The fabled lake of yore,

Calm your nerves and soothe your mind,

And peek through the door.

Because up again the valley of light,

By the frozen blue lake,

There you shall find it bright,

Long the before the daybreak.

Through the chambers void of fate,

You will encounter your destiny,

Cleanse your spirit of murder and hate

And you shall escape your ferocity.

Drop the dagger in your fists

And look towards the sky,

Focus your eyes and clench your wrists,

And wave your past goodbye.

And up again the valley of bliss,

By the frozen blue brook,

There you will find your forgotten peace

And into it you will look.
