Finding the best in advertisement

On December 24, 2017, the grand finale of Berger ADwiz 2017 was held in Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan 2. The role of advertisement has been recognised as one of the most important factors in the business arena, and with this in mind, the students of BRAC University Business Club (BIZ BEE) along with Berger Paints Limited Bangladesh, decided to organise "Berger ADwiz 2017" to encourage students to explore their hidden creativity and bring forward marvellous ideas.

The competition started off with more than 90 teams submitting television commercials (TVC) in the first round, from which 25 teams were selected for participation in the second round. The 25 teams were split into five groups, and from each group two teams moved forward to the third round, making a total of 10 teams for the said round. This round saw these teams divided into a final two groups, and three teams from each group were selected to participate in the grand finale of Berger ADwiz 2017. The six finalist teams were Dhum Dham; Pudina Pataa; Slightly Agitated Utensils; Hawk Insights; Roasted Coffee; and Wrong Buzz.

The event started at 6 PM, with an introduction given of the competition and the organisers. After the introduction, the judging panel was introduced. Sriya Sharbojoya, Executive Operation Director, Asiatic 360; Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Group Chief Operation Officer, Top Of Mind; and Sadek Newaz, General Manager, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited played the role of judges in the finale.

The teams were introduced next, after which the six teams went on to give their final presentation in front of the jury. An award was also given for the "Best TVC" from the first round submissions. After all the presentations, the judges announced the winners and runner-ups. Team Dhum Dham were announced as the winners, and took home BDT 100,000; first runner-up Slightly Agitated Utensils were awarded BDT 60,000, and Hawk Insights, the team in third position, received BDT 40,000.
