[Not Purple] RAIN

Just when you thought you're about to metamorphose into a cactus and Dhaka has become a slightly smaller version of Sahara, it arrived. But not before violently blowing some more dust into your gaping mouths. Yes, rain. Well, no, not just rain, thunderstorm – Kalboishakhi, to be precise. On the 18th day of Boishakh, too.

If you were fortunate to be able to admire it in the safety of your home, I hope you had khichuri for dinner with electricity. If you were outdoor and had to deal with this force of nature, condolences.

It remains to be seen how the rest of the season plays out. If any trait defines Bangladesh, it's the lack of a middle ground – that extends to the weather too. No flood, please. Thank you.
