Speak up?

Talking about one's own problems or what they are going through is always difficult. More and more barriers go up as we get older. A lot of us went through childhoods where speaking got us into trouble more often than our actions did. Spending the formative years in an environment can make one feel unsure about what to say or do in situations they are not used to. Conversations begin at home and if that place has a situation where a child is afraid to tell their parents what they are going through, that cannot possibly end well but that is the reality many face every day. Let's not try and infantilise kids to the point where they are even denied the right to speak about their emotions.
