DU’s ECA organises 'The Real Deal on Planning a Global Career'

Economics Career Alliance (ECA), of the University of Dhaka organized its first initiative titled 'The Real Deal on Planning a Global Career' in association with Ubiquity University, USA on 20th December, 2016 at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Science at the campus.

Shubham Roy, President of ECA, in his welcome note, stated that the initiative was aimed at building a bridge between university students and professional leaders in order to provide aspiring students with valuable knowledge and key insight on becoming a global professional, according to a press release.

The keynote speaker at the event was Sardar Mohammad Imrose, who is a Global Brand Analyst, Market Intelligence at Nissan Motor Corporation, Japan and the first Bangladeshi graduate ever to work at Nissan headquarters.

Imrose shared his personal journey and highlighted the importance of work ethic, adding value with each co-curricular activity as an undergrad, open-minded approach towards availing opportunities, multi-cultural experience and building positive mentality, according to the press release.

Guest speaker Masrur Rahman, Country Coordinator of Ubiquity University emphasized on global networking and access in order to connect Bangladeshi students with professional leaders at the highest international level and he also shared his plan to bring more global professionals in the future and connect with Bangladeshi students.

Club moderators of ECA and faculty members of the Department of Economics, DU, Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Dr. Rushad Faridi and Seikh Jafar Emran shared their thoughts on the impact of globalization on career planning.
