Conqueror Corporate Identity Design Contest 2015 is open

Paper Studio is proud to host the second Conqueror Corporate Identity Design Contest 2015. This contest is a platform for both design students and creative professionals to demonstrate their ingenuity and talent in corporate identity design.

As the first step a "Corporate Identity Design Seminar" was held on May 4, 2015 at Paper Studio premises in Tejgaon, Dhaka. 

There was an exclusive session held for a selected group of 50 students from 13 institutions in Dhaka. The participating institutes were Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Faculty of Fine Arts - Dhaka University, BRAC University, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, North South University (NSU), Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB), East West University, University of Development Alternative (UODA), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, University of Asia Pacific, Southeast University and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.  

These participants were mainly from the faculties of graphic design, architecture, print, media and business communication studies. Each group of 3-4 students was accompanied by a faculty member. The seminar was designed to create an understanding of how corporate identity design works in harmony with quality communication material. 

The two presenters at the event were artist Khaled Mahmud, whose topic "Mind, Matter, Materialization" and Christophe Balaresque, Luxury Brands and Marketing Director, Arjo Wiggins Creative Papers, whose "Beyond culture and nationality:  Why should luxury brands above all focus on the Human 2 Human touch" had their young audience engaged with the insights they shared on corporate communication design. 

At the end of the seminar "Conqueror Corporate Identity Design Contest, 2015" was announced open, requesting call for entries from May 5. 

The set theme declared for the contest is "Shashwata Bangla". Contestants are required to design a symbol for Bengal – reflecting our characteristics as a nation, as a country, as a people. This category is open to both students and professionals. There is also free theme (only for professionals) and a new, exciting category titled "Inspiration Work". 

The jury council has been formed with expert representation from the fields of art, architecture, advertising, brand communication, graphic design and print. The members are artist Khaled Mahmud, architect Salauddin Ahmed, graphic design experts Laura Bonapace and Yusuf Hassan, brand identity visionary Iftekhar A. Khan, print specialist Arifur Rahman Munir, cultural activist and advertising industry leader Aly Zaker.

This contest will provide a platform for both creative student and professionals in Bangladesh, to showcase their talents in corporate identity design. The contest is an opportunity for design students to challenge their own abilities to greater height and world class standards. 

The jury is scheduled to meet on the May 26 for the final selection of award winners. The student "Gold Award" winner will get to visit the Seoul Design Week 2015.

The deadline for submission is 5 pm, May 24, 2015.
