DIU faculty members receive Bangladesh Education Leadership Award
Three professors from Daffodil International University (DIU) received "Bangladesh Education Leadership Award 2019". Country's renowned Architect Prof. Md. Khairul Enam, Head, Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Mahabub Ul Haque, Head, Department of Textile, and Prof. Dr. Harun Ar Rashid, Head, Department of Public Health of DIU have received Bangladesh Education Leadership Award 2019 as best professors in their respective fields.
The World Education Congress, CMO Asia and CMO Council, jointly extended the Bangladesh Education Leadership Awards 2019 to them at a function held at a Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on September 8, 2019.
The awards have been given to them for excellence and success in their respective fields of education as well as their outstanding pioneering role in important academic issues, research, leadership and teaching.
The congress not only examines modern and traditional knowledge system but also explores how education can help develop mental, emotional and physical skills to help facilitate personal excellence.
IUB holds orientation programme for Autumn 2019
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) warmly welcomed the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Autumn 2019 semester through an orientation ceremony held this week at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
Welcoming the newly enrolled students and the parents, Prof. Milan Pagon, VC (Acting), IUB, heartily thanked the parents and students for choosing IUB towards crafting their lives by coping with new opportunities. Prof. Pagon advised all students to work hard, possess a "never give up attitude", be passionate on what they want to pursue and be employable instead of looking for typical jobs.
Highlighting the academic rules and regulations of the university, Md. Anwarul Islam, Registrar, IUB requested all students to be abided by them and assured to extend all essential cooperation to the new students and their parents. Dr. Mohd. Aminul Karim, Dean, School of Business; Dr. Mohammed Anwer, Dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science; Dr. Abdul Khaleque, Dean, School of Environmental Science and Management; Prof. Imtiaz A Hussain, Dean(Acting), School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; and Dr. Syed A K Shifat Ahmed representing School of Life Sciences also welcomed the new students and spoke in the programme by highlighting the strengths, opportunities and progressive learning environments.
The event was organised by the Admissions & Financial Aid Office at IUB and was conducted by its Deputy Director Lima Choudhury.
IUBAT holds interactive session with CSE students
Computer Science and Engineering Department of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) organised an interactive session at the open auditorium of IUBAT permanent campus on September 12, 2019. Students attended the programme with immense interest and enthusiasm. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, renowned educationist, writer and professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology; Dr Yeasmeen Haque, Professor, Physics Department; and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, famous educationist and former Dean of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BUET were present in the event.
Besides, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, VC of IUBAT; Prof. Dr Hamida Akter, Pro-VC of IUBAT; Prof. Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Dean of Engineering faculty; Dr. Md. Abdul Haque and Dr. Utpal Kanti Das, professors of Computer Science and Engineering were also present. Students had an hour-long discussion with the guests regarding various aspects of modern technology and contemporary issues.
