AIUB MPH Research Workshop and areer Seminar

The department of public health of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) successfully arranged a career seminar along with a research workshop on May 8, 2015 which provided a guideline how to pursue a career in Public Health with which graduate can embellish their career with. 

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Charles Villanueva, Pro-VC, AIUB. Dr. M Sadikur Rahman, Director, Central Police Hospital was a special guest. Prof. Dr. Md Nazrul Islam PhD, former head of the department of Maternal and Child Health and course director NIPSOM, conducted the research methodology workshop as chief facilitator in the morning session. Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, Vice President, Academics, AIUB and Prof. Dr. Ahmad Neaz, MPH program advisor also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. A K M Musha, country director of Concern Worldwide and Dr. Jahangir Hosssain, program director of CARE Bangladesh shared their valuable opinion and experience regarding public health sector. Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions. The closing and prize distribution was conducted by Dr. Md. Aurangzeb and coordinator of the programme.


First Women Marketeers Day at UIU

The first "Women Marketeers  Day" was held on April 30, 2015 at United International University (UIU). This programme was organised by UIU Marketing Forum, a wing of UIU Career Counseling Center (CCC). 

Prof. Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, VC, UIU presided over the ceremonies while Selima Ahmad, President and founder of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry was present as chief guest. The panel discussion session was generated by Zareef Tamanna Matin, Country Manager, CIMA Bangladesh, Farzana Khan, General Manager Sales, Marketing & Customer Service, Rangs Properties Ltd. and Faija Sajia Ansari, HR Director, Bangladesh Sri Lanka Cluster, Reckitt Benckiser. The closing session was led by Geeti Ara Safia Choudhury; Chairman & Managing Director of Adcomm Ltd. & Former Advisor to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh. 

This program was organised to encourage women in the marketing sector through recognising women C-executives. The mission of this programme was to empower women marketeers. 


Freshman Orientation Programme at BRACU

The undergraduate orientation programme of Summer 2015 took place on May 4, 2015 at BRAC University's Mohakhali Campus. VC, Prof. Syed Saad Andaleeb was the chief guest at the welcoming ceremony. Sukhendra Kumar Sarkar, Treasurer  and  Registrar, Muhammad Sahool Afzal were present  with all Heads of the Departments, faculty members and administrative staff to welcome the enthusiastic fresh undergraduate students along with their parents.

The discussion session also included four video presentations covering important aspects of the university, Alumni reflections, a glimpse of enriched BRACU library and residential semester at Savar Campus. 


SLA signed between British Council and SEU

A Service Level Agreement (SLA) on Reading Competition between British Council and Southeast University (SEU) was signed recently in the Conference Room of SEU Banani Office. VC of SEU Prof. Anwar Hossain and Director Examinations of British Council Bangladesh Deep Adhikari signed and exchanged the SLA on behalf of their institutions. Among others, Pro VC of SEU Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Registrar Brig. Gen. Md. Anwarul Islam, ndc, psc, G+ (Retd.), Dean (Acting) of School of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim, Chair of the Department of English Associate Prof. Harunur Rashid Khan, Resource Center Manager of British Council Bangladesh Sarwat Masuda Reza, Resource Center Officer Delower Hossain, SEU faculty members and a good number of officials were present. Under this initiative, nearly one thousand students at SEU will get opportunity to improve their reading skills as well as English language proficiency. 


Summer orientation programme at EWU

The orientation programme of the newly admitted students for Summer semester 2015 were held in different academic programs of East West University at Aftabnagar on May 7, 2015. More than 1100 students got admitted at the graduate and undergraduate programs in 11 different departments in this semester. 

Department of Business Administration arranged the orientation program at the Auditorium Lobby of East West University.  Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of BOT, EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank attended the programme as the chief guest. Prof. Ahmed Shafee, VC graced the occasion as the special guest. Prof. Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairperson of Department of Business Administration and Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics chaired the programme. Among others, Air Cadre Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury (Retd.), Registrar of EWU presented the rules and regulations of the University to the newcomers.
