Astronomy lovers unite at National Space Carnival

On December 30, 2016, astronomy lovers from all over the country along with their parents were present at the Daffodil International University’s new Ashulia campus to attend the largest space event in Bangladesh, National Space Carnival 2016 powered by Desire Glance Inc. After organising successful divisional rounds in Rajshahi, Sylhet and Chittagong, Desire Glance Inc. organised the national round at Dhaka.

This grand event was inaugurated by chief guest of the event Md. Dilwar Bakht, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defense & Chairman of Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARRSO). Different competitions such as astronomy Olympiad, debate competition, quiz competition, extempore speech, story writing competition and painting competition were held one after another. There was also an exhibition on space craft models made by participants.

Md. Faqrul Islam Fahad, Head of Marketing, Desire Glance Inc and Md. Touhid Zaman, Head of Operation, Desire Glance Inc. were also present as special guests on opening ceremony.

After the competitions were over, there was a talk on the topic “Robotics and Drone” by the Head of Corporate Affairs of Desire Glance Inc. and founder of Magic Box BD, Asif Mahmud Shuvo. A drone took off and the students also got the opportunity to fly it.

Subsequently, all the winners in different competitions were handed over certificates and awards by the CEO of Desire Glance Inc., Khandaker Abdullah Al Tahmid, founding Convener of Dhaka University Science Society, S M Sobhany Saurav and Head of Corporate Affairs of Desire Glance Inc., Asif Mahmud Shuvo. SHOUT was the Youth Engagement Partner of this grand event.
