APP REVIEW

UNIFIED REMOTE - MAKING LIFE EASIER FOR THE LAZIES

Platforms: iOS, Android

If you do most of your work at home on your desktop computer, and you're one of those lazy people who like lying down a lot, Unified Remote could be the solution to all your problems (not the health related ones).

It's a very simple tool that allows you to control your PC from your smartphone as long as they are connected to the same WiFi network. If you have the app installed on your phone and the desktop application installed on your PC (where you can password protect it), a quick scan from the mobile app will track down the PCs connected to the network and allow you to choose.

Unified Remote basically has a collection of remotes for executing different commands on your PC, for instance, there's the 'basic input' remote that turns your phone screen to a touch pad that works like a mouse attached to your PC. The file manager remote is handy if you want to play music from one corner of your room but are not willing to get up and walk five paces.

The free version of the app (available on Android/iOS) offers 5 different remotes, the basic input, file manager, keyboard, media, and power.
