APP REVIEW

Think Logically with Buttons and Scissors

Platform: Android, iOS

Rating: 4/5

I'm not a hard-core gamer. I stick to time-pass games, like puzzles. That's why I find Buttons and Scissors so fascinating. It's a logic game that brings out your inner tailor, while making you think rationally.

The game is simplistic. There are some sewing buttons on the screen that you have to cut off. You pass the level once all the buttons are gone. To do that, you just need to select two or more buttons of the same colour, and they'll be cut by a virtual scissor. Sounds simple? Think again.

You can only choose buttons that are on the same horizontal, vertical or diagonal level. And you cannot choose two buttons to cut if they are blocked by buttons of any other colour. So basically, in order to pass each level, you must think logically and decide which buttons to remove first so that you can cut the other ones. And yes, the faster you solve the board, the more points you get.

There is tutorial in the app to help you learn. I really appreciate the HD graphics that the game comes with, and thank goodness for the unlimited undo option, for I've made some pretty bad moves. There are separate boards for 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7 levels. There are more than 1000 different levels. It's pretty intuitive, so you won't have any problem understanding how it works.

Buttons and Scissors is an 11 MB game that teases your brain and can help improve your logical thinking abilities. Download it and give it a shot. You and I can compare scores afterwards.
