Shopping malls, markets to remain open from May 10

The government has decided to allow all markets, shops and shopping malls across the country to remain open till 4:00pm from May 10.

Mushfiqur Rahman, joint secretary of the cabinet division, confirmed the development to The Daily Star tonight.

Besides, the cabinet division issued a gazette notification in this regard today.

According to the gazette, "markets, shops and shopping malls will remain open from 10am to 4pm every day maintaining health guidelines, and shopping malls will have to make arrangements for hand-washing at their entrances."  

Earlier in the day, the cabinet division issued another gazette notification saying that all shops and shopping malls will remain open till 5:00pm to continue trading on a limited scale during the month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

However, the gazette notification did not clarify from when the shops and shopping malls would open.
