Bugatti's one-off tribute piece— La Voiture Noire

Geneva Motor show was rocked by three major hypercars, but Bugatti's La Voiture Noire stole the show with an eye-watering price tag slapped onto a truly special automobile. LVN is a tribute piece—named after the notorious third Bugatti Atlantic from the pre-war 1930s that went missing after being put on a train to escape German occupation of France. The Atlantic is undoubtedly the unicorn of Bugatti's storied century-plus history and the most expensive vehicle ever sold at an auction. The La Voiture Noire tries to mimic the Atlantic with Bugatti Chiron running gear—same chassis and drivetrain, but draped in a super special body that tries to capture the sensual lines of the Atlantic, complete with the central 'seam' of the original. It's priced at a staggering $19 Million, it's a relative bargain for a one-off Bugatti—the Atlantic only had four examples made and only three are alive, and the last time one went up for sale, it fetched an enormous $40 Million.
