• Freedom fighters led by Capt Giasuddin Chowdhury in Sector No. 7 attacked on Bajubaka enemy positions. 34 Razakars are killed and 124 wounded.
• Dr AM Malik takes oath as the new governor of ‘East Pakistan’ at the governor house. The Chief Justice of the province BA Siddiki convenes the ceremony. Lt General Niazi is present during the ceremony.
