All the government and non-government schools across the country will remain closed from June 29 to August 6 due to Ramadan, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The education ministry issued an order regarding the 39-day vacation today, eight days after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told a cabinet meeting that all primary and secondary schools and madrasas across the country will enjoy holiday during the Ramadan.

Education Minister Nurul islam Nahid however requested the PM to keep the institutions open for the first 10 days of Ramadan.

Hasina, at the cabinet meeting held on June 16, suggested that the ministries concerned make an adjustment of the 10 days to the yearly summer vacation in all educational institutions.
