Bangladesh’s ‘Works at Facebook’ community chilling despite mass layoff

You may wonder how the large number of people in Bangladesh, with a bio on Facebook claiming that they work at Facebook, are coping after hearing that the social media site's founder Mark Zuckerberg has fired 11,000 employees.

You may be surprised to learn that fired employees were enjoying themselves, as if they received a promotion instead of a termination letter. While the whole world is trying hard to figure out the Bangladeshi 'Works at Facebook' community's chill mood at such a time, Satireday came across a person named Just Ripon Audio who "works at Facebook".

When asked whether he was one of the unlucky persons recently fired, he said, "Are you kidding me? Mark Zuckerberg didn't dare to fire any Bangladeshi!

"Zuckerberg should actually be thankful that we are working in his company without any monetary benefits."

Meanwhile, a very secret probe revealed that 60 percent of fired employees were on the verge of getting divorced after they told their spouses that they weren't going on a Europe tour this year.

"A man, named Laver Boy Kuddus, from Bangladesh sent me a friend request and I accepted it as I saw he 'Works at Facebook' bio. We never talked but I used to lurk around his timeline and read his posts. He was totally clueless about what he was writing and didn't even care about the grammar and spelling. He isn't fired, but we are!"

Soon after news went global that no Bangladeshi lost their job at Facebook, it became a mystery trending on Twitter – much to Zuckerberg's consternation – as hundreds of alumni from Harvard, Oxford, MIT and Cambridge lost their jobs with the same organisation.

These unfortunate geniuses were scratching their heads while blaming their luck for not being born a Bangladeshi.

He isn't fired, but we are!" John, an alumnus of Harvard, moaned.

When asked how he was so sure that the Laver Boy Kuddus didn't get fired, John said, "I can still see his profile. The bio still says 'Laver Boy Kuddus works at Facebook'. What more proof do you need to understand this simple thing?"

On the other hand, here in Bangladesh, Satireday conducted a very confidential survey on the people working at Facebook and the outcomes were shocking.

The "Works at Facebook" community continued their parties as if nothing happened.

A man, while partying at Hatirjheel, agreed to spare us some of his precious time despite having a busy schedule of dancing with girls.

When asked how they were so calm while thousands of employees were losing their jobs, he said, "Man, I work at a restaurant and I am a part-time TikToker, but you are asking me about Facebook? Have you gone mad or you think I am mad?"

After the Satireday correspondent reminded him about his Facebook bio, he said, "Yeah, I take orders from our Facebook page. Doesn't that mean that I work there? My bio is not like Zuckerberg's community standards, which you nor anyone understands. Thank you very much," the man said as he went off to learn new dance moves for his next TikTok video.
