BNP thinks that without ensuring the security for Rohingya refugees, the process of repatriation will result in a disastrous consequence for the persecuted community.

"If the government sends back Rohingyas without ensuring their security. it will be like pushing them to hell," said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

He expressed frustration over the recently accorded Rohingya repatriation deal inked between Bangladesh and Myanmar, that until thus far is known to have no time limit.

"We are disappointed as we don't know about the aspects of the agreement. Even the government did not make it public," Fakhrul told journalists at BNP's Nayapaltan central office.

Calling upon the government to disclose the agreement, Fakhrul said the government should step up to stop the repression and persecution on the Rohingyas.

"We don't know how realistic it will be to send them back without stopping the repression. It is still unknown whether they will be victims of mass killing again," he expressed his concern.

Speaking on the issue of the latest hike in power tariff, Fakhrul said they will go for mass engaging programmes in the issue. "We will surely announce programme protesting the power price hike."

Criticising the government for hiking the power price, Fakhrul said, this hike will put the people's suffering in the worst situation and prices of the daily essentials will also go up.
