Robbers abduct 45 fishermen in Bay

Robbers abducted at least 45 fishermen from Majer Char area in Pathar Ghata upazila of Barguna in two days.
The robbers, locally known as Raju Bahini, attacked several trawlers at Balleshwar Point in the Bay of Bengal between 6:00pm yesterday and 2:00pm today (Friday), and abducted the fishermen, our Patuakhali Correspondent reports quoting Ansar Uddin Mollah, president of Mahipur Trawler Owners Association.
They have taken the fishermen to somewhere in the Sundarbans, he said.
Initiatives to rescue the fishermen will be undertaken soon, Lt Abudul Latif, commander of Coast Guard’s Patharghata Zone in Barguna, told the correspondent.
