Research seminar at The American Center

The American Center, U.S. Embassy Dhaka hosted a research seminar on August 21, 2014, showcasing the findings of four U.S. Fulbright students who have been in Bangladesh for nine months. The U.S. Fulbright programme offers grants for scholars to design their own projects and work with advisers at foreign universities or other institutes of higher education.

Every year, Bangladesh hosts Fulbright scholars from the U.S., who teach at universities, pursue research and also promote English language learning. The four U.S. students conducted research on topics related to finding solutions to improve pre-hospital trauma care in urban Bangladesh, understanding postpartum tension for new mothers in Dhaka, detecting dengue virus and dengue serotypes and on the resettlement of Burmese immigrant communities in Cox's Bazar.
