Reckless BRTC bus kills pedestrian in Dhaka

A pedestrian was killed when an articulated bus of state-run BRTC veered off the road and ploughed into a footpath at Farmgate in Dhaka this morning.

Police identified the deceased as Ali Akkas, 32, said Sub-inspector of Tejgaon Police Station Shahida Akter.

The accident took place near Al-Razi Hospital around 6:45am as the driver lost control over the steering, the SI said.

The body of Akkas was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.

Police seized the bus and detained the driver.
