Train communication of Dhaka with northern and southern districts, which remained suspended since last night following a train derailment on the Bangabandhu bridge, was restored this evening.

The communications were resumed around 5:00pm today, reports our Tangail correspondent.

Mahbubul Haque, the chief engineer, came up with the assurance while visiting the spot on Monday morning.
Two rescue trains from Dhaka and Pakshey Junction of Pabna started operation around 7:00am today to salvage a Dinajpur-bound train Drutojan Express that veered off the tracks last night, the engineer said.
Nine compartments of the train have been derailed from the tracks on the Bangabandhu Multipurpose Bridge as a nor'wester hit the train around 11:30am.
Meanwhile, a four-member investigation committee led by Amjad Hossain, additional director general of (Infrastructure) Bangladesh Railway, was formed today to probe into the derailment.
The committee has been asked to submit a report in three days.
At least 10 were injured during the incident while nearly 500 passengers safely got off the train.
