Rab arrests 'drug peddler'; was bringing 40,000 yaba pills in cattle-carrying truck

Rab arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 40,000 pieces of yaba pills from a cattle-carrying truck in Dhaka's Darussalam area last evening.

The arrestee was identified as Yunus Hossain, 38, an inhabitant of Cox's Bazar district.

On information, a team of Rab intercepted the truck around 6:30pm yesterday at Darussalam area and recovered the contraband items from a specially designed chamber in the vehicle, said Mozammel Haque, commanding officer of Rab-4.

In primary interrogation, the arrestee told Rab that he had long been carrying yaba pills from Cox's Bazar and Chattogram inside truck, covered-van, private car, and selling those in Mirpur and nearby areas, he added. 

Rab seized the truck.
