Launching Ceremony of “Probashi” App

The launching ceremony of the "Probashi" app was held on March 30, 2021 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the ball room of Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon. The chief guest of the event was the State Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam, MP. The special guests were Kabir Bin Anwar, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, Secretary, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Hosne Ara Begum ndc, Managing Director (Secretary), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Tina F Jabeen, CPA, Managing Director & CEO, Startup Bangladesh Ltd, ICT Division, and Asif Ibrahim, Chairman, Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd.

'Probashi' being the first online connectivity platform to build & maintain connections with both Residential Bangladeshis (RB) & Non-Residential Bangladeshis (NRB) worldwide, will enable Bangladeshi expats (NRBs) to exchange skills, share experiences and link opportunities. Through sharing and matching user generated random contents, linkages and services by verified users, 'Probashi' is being established as the most trusted platform for Bangladeshi Aspirants (RB & NRB) to get connected & find opportunities abound, across the globe. It is also expected that this platform will impact the Bangladeshi community in various socio-economic ways. For instance- enable NRB's to contribute more for the other countrymen, connect and build strong Bangladeshi expat communities in other countries, create better employment and other opportunities abroad, showcase authentic opportunities which will eliminate fraudulent activities, share and link opportunities prevailing in different countries, enable Bangladeshi aspirants with enhanced and contemporary knowledge and information. As a whole 'Probashi' is featured with the capacity to explore, optimize and connect the expatriate strength Bangladesh has worldwide in order to harness global opportunities.

Hosne Ara Begum ndc, Managing Director (Secretary), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority said that such initiatives are essential for the development of the society. SME's could directly connect buyers in abroad using 'Probashi' platform.

Kabir Bin Anwar, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources said "Sometimes different types of services are required by the expats which are being met through informal channels; Such initiative could help get these services through formal channel."

Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, Secretary, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment said that the people should be more careful about going abroad and should take the decision after being fully aware or informed through formal channels. He also said that such a platform can play a very important role to provide authentic information to those who are interested to go abroad and provide services that are validated through the appropriate bodies.

The State Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the power our expats possess needs to be harnessed and the government is working to ensure that they are supported. He also suggested that the platform should be inclusive and our remittance warriors should be prioritized for various services.
