Career and Placement Center of North South University (NSU) opens new doors for engineers in Japan IT Market

Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council was present as the Chief Guest at the MoU signing ceremony between Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), North South University (NSU) and University of Miyazaki (UoM), Japan for “Post-Bangladesh Japan ICT Engineers Training (BJET) Implementation Agreement” yesterday. Among others, Prof. Tsutomu Ikenoue, President, UoM, Yuho Hayakawa, Chief Representative, JICA Bangladesh, Mohammad Enamul Kabir, Director, BCC, Prof. M Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor, NSU, Prof. Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director, Career and Placement Center (CPC), NSU and others were present.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), North South University (NSU), and University of Miyazaki (UoM), Japan for "Post-Bangladesh Japan ICT Engineers Training (BJET) Implementation Agreement" on 24th February 2021 at the ICT Tower, Agargaon, Dhaka.

 

The Career and Placement Center (CPC) of NSU has taken a lead in the project on behalf of NSU from its onset under the leadership of Prof. Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director, CPC. The department is in charge of career, internship, and job placements. CPC of North South University, is continuously striving towards creating a bridge between the students and the corporate world. The MoU signed among BCC, NSU and UoM has yet again proven the scope of CPC's success. In this regard, "The Project for Skills Development of IT Engineers Targeting Japanese Market", will serve our students to a large extent. This MoU will create further opportunities for the students to learn more about their career opportunities and prepare them for their future career track. At least 80 students will get a chance to enroll in this program with a fee of 10,000 taka only. The first six months of the training module will be held at NSU, and the second three months module will be held in Japan. Completing the modules will open up enormous job opportunities for our engineering students. The program aims to support the capacity development of Bangladeshi ICT engineers and future ICT engineers who have the potential to create business networks between Japan and Bangladesh.

 

Esteemed personnel from different organizations were present at the signing ceremony. Md. Golam Sarwar, Project Director, BCC inaugurated the ceremony by delivering the inauguration speech. Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director, BCC attended the meeting as the Chief Guest. Prof. M Ismail Hossain, Pro-VC of North South University was present as the Special Guest along with Prof. Tsutomu Ikenoue, President, University of Miyazaki (UoM) who attended the ceremony through Zoom Meeting from Japan as the Special Guest. JICA Experts Yuki Morishita & Takeo Uzawa delivered the BJET achievement report at the ceremony. Prof. Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director, Career and Placement Center (CPC), NSU and Prof. Dr. Javed Bari, Dean, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, NSU attended the ceremony as the representatives of NSU. Yuho Hayakawa, Chief Representative, JICA Bangladesh and JICA Expert Akihiro SHOJI also graced the event on behalf of BJET. Prof. Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU, Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director, BCC and Prof. Keisuke Murakami, Vice President (International Relations), UoM signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Mohammad Enamul Kabir, Director, BCC delivered the closing remarks and closed the ceremony after signing the MoU and photo session.
