The High Court today transferred the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court and asked to complete the trial proceedings in 60 days from receiving the order.

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim shifted the case Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court from Special Judge's Court-3 following a revision petition filed by Khaleda seeking its order for transferring the case.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told The Daily Star that the Judge of Special Judge's Court-3 Abu Ahmed Jomadar will transfer the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case to Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court after receiving the HC order.

Khurshid Alam will inform it to the ACC and then the commission will take decision whether it will move an appeal before the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court challenging the transfer order.

On March 5, the HC fixed Wednesday (today) for passing the order on the revision petition.

On February 8, the BNP chief filed the petition challenging the order of the Special Judge's Court-3 of Dhaka which rejected her no confidence petition.
