Recommendation to suspend Quader Mirza withdrawn hours after being issued

Noakhali district unit of Awami League today withdrew a letter recommending withdrawal and suspension of Basurhat Municipality Mayor Abdul Quader Mirza from all activities of the party two hours after issuing it.

AHM Khairul Anam, president of AL Noakhali district unit, confirmed this development to The Daily Star citing unavoidable reasons.

The letter was issued around 4:00pm today, undersigned by AHM Khairul Anam and district AL unit general secretary Md Enamul Karim Chowdhury.

The letter was addressed to AL President Sheikh Hasina, and members of the party's working committee.

The letter cited allegations against Quader Mirza, younger brother of AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, of inciting violence and intra-party feud, making slanderous remarks against central and district leaders of Awami League and other anti-party activities.
