Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is now out of danger, doctors have said after a bypass surgery conducted Wednesday.

Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, the doctor accompanying Quader in Singapore, disclosed the information this afternoon, says a press release.

“He will be moved to a cabin in three to four days,” said the director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). “All his parametres are well.”

Quader, also the road transport minister, underwent a successful bypass surgery at Mount Elizabeth Hospital last Wednesday.

Quader was admitted to BSMMU on March 3 following breathing complications. Later, tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.

He was flown to Singapore the next day for treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
