Hefajat’s new committee demands release of arrested leaders, opening of Qawmi madrasas

The leaders of the new committee of Hefajat-e Islam today demanded immediate release of all the arrested "innocent" leaders of Hefajat and opening of Qawmi madrasas.

Hefajat's new committee made the demand after its maiden meeting at Hefajat Secretary General Nurul Islam Jihadi's office at a madrasa in the capital's Khilgaon.

In the meeting, it was said many innocent leaders and general people have been arrested in the recent days.

Hefajat's new leaders demanded that the government immediately release them.

Hefajat leaders also demanded that the government reopen all Qawmi madrasas in the country without delay.

"Qawmi madrasas are religious institutions. Qawmi madrasas bring God's mercy to our country," Hefajat said in a press release.

Nurul Islam Jihadi, Ataullah Hafezzi, Abdul Haq, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Muhibbul Haque, Maulana Yahya, Sajidur Rahman, Abdul Awal, Anwarul Karim, Ayub Babunagari, Mubarak Ullah, among others were present at the meeting.
