Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP has revealed its narrow mindedness by complaining to the foreigners showing disrespect to the country’s people.

“They (BNP) have dishonoured the country and its people through lodging complaints with the foreigners… I, too, want to make a complaint at the court of conscience of the common people to this end,” he said, speaking at a function here.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, was inaugurating the website of AL’s Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee at the function in the city’s Institution of Engineers.

He said the dream of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is to groom the next generation. But their (BNP) dream is the next election. They don’t understand anything except power, he added.

Urging BNP, Quader said, “You are doing politics in Bangladesh. If you have any complaint about the country’s democracy, you should lodge the complaint with the common people.”

He said no foreign forces can bring any party to power. “If the leaders of BNP had confidence in the people, they could not have tarnished the image of the country by complaining to foreigners,” he added.

“Is Bangladesh similar to Zimbabwe, Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan , Congo or Syria?” he questioned the BNP leaders.

AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-committee Chairman Professor Dr Hossain Mansur and Member Secretary and AL Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Md Abdus Sabur, among others, addressed the function.

The sub-committee inaugurated the website www.stsc.albd/org aiming to project the development works of Awami League and to prevent rumours in different social media.
