Khulna BNP calls half-day hartal for tomorrow

Khulna BNP today called a six-hour hartal across the district for tomorrow protesting the killing of a local leader and his bodyguard by unknown assailants.

The hartal will start around 6:00am and will continue till 12:00noon, Nazrul Islam Manzu, president of Khulna city unit BNP, made the announcement at a press conference at the party’s local office this noon.

Unidentified attackers shot and killed Alauddin Mithu, organising secretary of the district unit of BNP and his bodyguard Nowsher Gazi in Phultala area of Khulna last night.

Meanwhile, referring to the killing, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi at a programme in Dhaka said that the government has let loose a reign of terror against the party men to conceal its misdeeds and mismanagement.
