Khaleda congratulates Trump

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today congratulated Donald Trump as he has been sworn in as the 45th president of the US.

BNP International Affairs Secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon conveyed the message to the US embassy in Dhaka, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of Khaleda’s media wing, told The Daily Star this evening.

New York billionaire Trump took oath as president of the US on Friday. He defeated his Democrat rival Hilary Clinton in the November 2016 elections.

The BNP chief also extended her congratulation to Antonio Tajani as he has become president of the European Parliament.

Ripon also conveyed the congratulatory message to the Dhaka office of the European Union Delegation this noon, Sayrul said.
