Jubo Dal leader stabbed to death in Pabna

A local Jubo Dal leader was stabbed to death by miscreants at Nechrapara in Faridpur upazila of Pabna this evening.

The victim, Saiful Islam Liton, 40, was the convener of upazila unit of Jubo Dal, the youth wing of BNP.

Officer-in-charge of Faridpur Police Station Habibur Rahman said a group of miscreants swooped on Liton around 7:00pm as soon as he stepped out of his house to go to a local bazaar.

The attackers hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him injured.

The Jubo Dal leader was taken to upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead, the OC said.

However, the reason behind the killing was yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, upazila BNP president Zahurul Islam Baku demanded immediate arrest of the killers.
