JCD General Secretary Akramul held in Dhaka

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Akramul Hasan was arrested from Paltan area of capital Dhaka today, police said.

A team of Paltan police arrested Akramul at noon, Shibli Noman, additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.

The arrest was made following two arrest warrant issued by a Dhaka court against him in a case, according to Paltan police.

The JCD, the student wing of BNP, in a press release, said Akramul was arrested from Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka when he went there to join a programme organised jointly by Bangladesh Chhatra Forum and Uttaranchal Chhatra Forum.

The party’s central committee condemns the arrest, the release said.
