BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged the government to disclose the deals that will be signed during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s India tour.

“I came to know through newspaper that Bangladesh is going to sign security and military deal with India. I am calling up on the government to disclose the proposed deal upholding people’s rights to know,” Fakhrul said.

He was addressing a function marking imprisonment day of BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity organised by Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh – a front of the party.

“It is unacceptable that Bangladesh will sign a deal with India by keeping people in the dark,” he added.

He also criticised the government for its failure in reaching Teesta water sharing agreement with India and said: “We need no know what the government is doing and when the deal is going to be signed.”
