“Allama Shafi is seriously ill. He is in the ICU [Intensive Care Unit]. We went to see him. His situation is critical,” Fakhrul told journalists.

His (Shafi) situation has improved slightly after he was admitted to the hospital, he said adding, “We hope that his situation will improve soon.”

The 96-year-old Shafi was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He has been admitted to the ICU of Asgar Ali Hospital at Gandaria in Dhaka as his health condition has deteriorated.
