Family feud alleged
A union-level Jubo League leader was beaten to death allegedly by his cousin in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur this morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Md Bodiuzzaman Suzan, 30, Jubo League president of Boaldar union in the upazila, our correspondent reports quoting Abdus Sabur, officer-in-charge of Hakimpur Police Station.
Suzan’s father Selim Uddin Sardar is a resident of Boigram village in the upazila, the OC said.
Family feud over land and ponds might be the reason behind the killing, said police and locals.
Suzan died on the spot when Shaifiqul Islam, one of his cousins, with hired goons beat him mercilessly at a roadside tea stall in Boigram village around 8:30am, police said quoting locals.
Police recovered the body and were preparing to send it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC told the correspondent in the morning.
