A Dhaka court today allowed police to interrogate BNP leaders Rizvi Ahmed and Shamsuzzaman Dudu at jail gate by May 31 in connection with nine arson cases filed against them in January.

Metropolitan Magistrate M Imdadul Haque passed the order after rejecting their remand and bail petitions in the cases – three filed against Rizvi and six against Dudu. The cases were filed with Paltan and Motijheel Police Stations.

Earlier in the day, police produced them before the court with a 30-day remand for Rizvi while 6o-day remand for Dudu.

The magistrate turned down the remand prayers and also rejected the petitions filed by the accused seeking bail.
