CEC lauds Gen Zia for ‘restoring multi-party democracy’

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda today lauded BNP founder General Ziaur Rahman as “he had restored multi-party democracy” in the country.

“BNP has many contributions as a big political party in the country”, said the CEC said while delivering an opening statement during a dialogue with a 16-member BNP delegation at the EC Secretariat today.

KM Nurul Huda said he had worked with many ministers during BNP-led government. “We hope, the talks with BNP will be fruitful as the country people are looking  towards,”    

The 16-member delegation led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sat with the CEC at the EC office to discuss the 11th parliamentary polls.
