BNP is hopeful that the government will sit with them and discuss over holding the next general election under a neutral election commission.

“Prime minister rejected our demand primarily, but we hope, she will arrange talks over holding the next general poll under a neutral EC,” said BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu.

“All feuds are usually resolved through discussion and we hope, the government will pave the path for talks,” the BNP leader said in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters.

Dudu said Sheikh Mujibur Rahman continued talks with Pakistan when the country was almost on the verge of independence in 1971. “We believe, Sheikh Hasina will follow the example of her father to resolve the crisis.”
