BNP has got permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold workers’ rally in Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on the occasion of Labour Day on May 1.

“DMP gave the permission last night,” said BNP senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan central office this morning.

BNP high-ups have taken all-out efforts to stage huge showdown to make the rally a success where Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address the rally as chief guest, insiders said.

BNP leaders have already announced that the rally would be the biggest gathering of its kind in recent times.

The rally will be organised by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, labour wing of the party.
