2,906 out of 6,152 cast votes in SCBA election
2-day SCBA election ends tomorrow
Some 2,906 lawyers out of total 6,152 cast their votes on the first day of the two-day annual election to Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)’s 14 executive posts today.
The voting will resume tomorrow at 10:00am and continue till 5:00pm in SCBA auditorium in the capital. The result is likely to be announced tomorrow night, SCBA Superintended Nimesh Chandra Das told The Daily Star today.
Awami League leader and former SCBA president Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, BNP leader and incumbent SCBA President Advocate Zainul Abedin, Advocate Shah MdKhasruzzaman and Advocate Eunus Ali Akond are all contesting for president’s post.
Meanwhile, Advocate Sheikh MdMorshed, incumbent SCBA secretary and former BNP lawmaker Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Advocate AlhajAbul Bashar are contesting for the post of secretary, Nimesh Chandra added.
