People not to accept any formula of supportive government: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the next national election would be held on time as per the constitution.

"Nothing beyond the constitution will be acceptable... The next polls will be held in due time," he said while inaugurating the representative meeting of Awami League district unit and new member collection programme at the Mukta Mancha in Brahmanbaria.

AL Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Organising Secretary Enamul Haque Shamim, lawmakers Fayzur Rahman Badal, Fazilatunneccha Bappi, and AL district unit General Secretary Al Mamun Sarker, among others, addressed the meeting chaired by AL district unit President RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury.

Quader said the countrymen would never accept the formula of supportive government formulated in London.

About the BNP's movement after Eid, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said they have no strength to wage a long movement.

He urged the AL leaders not to induct any person, who is against spirit of the Liberation War and not acceptable to common people, in the party.

Earlier, Quader inaugurated the construction work of a bridge on the Titas river at Shabajpur in Sarail upazila in the district, by laying its foundation stone.
