BNP forms committee for Rangpur city polls

BNP has formed a committee to coordinate activities and garner support for their candidate in the Rangpur City Corporation election on December 21.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, vice chairman of BNP, will be the convener of the committee, and Rangpur Organising Secretary Asadul Habib Dulu member secretary.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary of BNP, made the announcement at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

Also, Rizvi expressed fears over the prevailing atmosphere of the elections, bringing allegations of favouritism against Election Commission over the Awami League candidate.

“A question has arisen that whether the Election Commission wants a fair election atmosphere,” Rizvi alleged. “The ruling quarters are flouting all electoral code of conduct.”
