Photojournalist Peu passes away

Azizur Rahim Peu

Renowned photojournalist Azizur Rahim Peu died of heart attack at his Dhanmondi residence in Dhaka early today at the age of 54.

Peu, photo editor of the daily Observer, breathed his last around 2:45am at his house in Shangkar area, Bangla newspaper Prothom Alo reports.

He began his career as a photojournalist with the renowned daily Ittefaq in 1988. Later, he also worked at the Shokaler Khobor.

Peu, a founding member of Drik News, was a teacher of Pathshala, a photography training school. He was also the president of Bangladesh Photojournalist Forum.

The photojournalist will be buried in his home soil in Rangpur.
