Pak journo Hamid Mir hurt in gun attack

Unknown gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir in Karachi this evening, injuring the senior reporter and television anchorperson.

Reports said the incident took place on Sharae Faisal near Natha Khan area when the gunmen opened fire on his vehicle around 5:30pm.

Mir was taken to a private hospital for emergency treatment.

The journalist was on his way to his office from the airport when he was attacked.

Reports said Mir is presently in a state of unconsciousness, but further details about his condition could not be ascertained at the time of filing of this report.
