14 hurt in Dhaka crude bomb blasts

At least 14 people, including a policeman, were injured in separate crude bomb explosions in Dhaka today.
Around 13 people were injured as several crude bombs were hurled at a procession of ruling Awami League activists in front of Shikkha Bhaban this afternoon.
Police said miscreants hurled the bombs when the processionists were marching towards Suhrawardy Udyan to attend a rally marking the historic March 7.
A source at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital told The Daily Star that 13 people were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Contacted, Assistant Commissioner Shibli Noman said locals nabbed three alleged miscreants following the explosions and handed them over to police.
In another incident, a policeman was hurt as unidentified criminals exploded three crude bombs around 3:00pm near Karwan Bazar underpass, said Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Police Station.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahbub sustained minor injuries in the explosions, police said.
None was detained in the connection.
