Trucker burnt in Noakhali arson attack

A truck driver suffered burn injuries and his wheat-laden truck was gutted in an arson attack in Noakhali Sadar Upazila this evening.

Ismail Hossain was admitted to Noakhali Abdul Maleque Medical College Hospital with 60 percent burn injuries, Anwar Hossain, officer–in-charge of Sudharam Police Station, told our correspondent.

A group of alleged pickets hurled a petrol bomb at the Sonapur-bound truck around 9:15pm in Dotter Hat area, leaving the driver critically injured, the OC added.

Police detained a person in this connection.
