Yet another successful Rise Above All

Rise Above All, the nation’s largest public speaking session platform organised by Don Sumdany, in association with The Daily Star took place in Dhaka on Saturday.

This one of a kind event is essential for individuals who are visionary about a better future. Attendees also relished the array of amazing food offered by various food partners namely - Tao Town, Pizza guy, BRGR people and Tabaq. The event was powered by MasterCard and co-sponsored by SHWAPNO and Igloo.

Don Sumdany Facilitation and Consultancy was the organizer of the largest public speaking session and hosted 1500 corporates, young professionals and students. 

The speaker line-up was star studded with iconic individuals of different fields and backgrounds sharing stories about life’s purpose and insights on diversified topics. The title sponsor of the event was Twelve Clothing.

The opening session was done by the host Ghulam Sumdany Don – Chief Inspirational officer of Don Sumdany Facilitation and consultancy, who talked about Entrepreneurship and the secrets that no one talks about.

He shared the ups and downs of an entrepreneur’s journey, the brighter side of entrepreneurship, and how it is leaving a meaningful legacy behind.

The keynote speaker Deputy Education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel MP quoted the father of nation and said “Sincerity of purpose and honesty of purpose is an integral part of anyone's life”.

Abdullah Hil Rakib, Managing Director of Team Group emphasized that satisfaction is about being happy, and implored everyone to follow their dreams no matter what, with perseverance. The crowd was in awe when Sonia Bashir Kabir shared her take on leaving an impact through entrepreneurship. Mominul Islam, Managing Director & CEO of IPDC, inspired the crowd by sharing with them the importance of perseverance in an entrepreneur’s journey. Success will come if you stick to your position and not give up.

It was a rare occasion to see the nation’s beloved singer Habib Wahid as a speaker. He shared key moments of his life and revealed that passion and hard work are two key ingredients in the recipe of grandeur. Kamrul Hassan, Group CEO of Igloo spoke of the ups and downs of the 24 years of remarkable journey in the corporate world, he talked about the importance of adaptability and flexibility. Emerging second generation stars Pritom Hasan talked about taking risks and chances and Nuhash Humayun talked about how being different isn't bad, sometimes it makes us unique.

Asif Saleh, Executive Director-BRAC, took the stage to share some of the key events in his journey. He shared how curiosity and interest can change one's vision. Nusrat Faria shared the story of her journey with the crowd and advised us to convert our flaws into our strength by accepting who we are. Arifin Shuvoo talked about the struggles in his life and emphasized that true success is to rise above your own self.
