Teenager’s body found in Munshiganj after ‘going missing’ for 18 days

Police recovered the body of a teenage boy from a pond near his house in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj this morning.

The deceased Md Hasan Mia, 17, son of Md Shamim Hosen, was missing from December 21 of last year, claimed his family members.

There are injury marks on several parts of the body, reports our local correspondent quoting Md Rois Uddin, officer-in-charge of Gazaria Police Station.

Hasan's family members claim that they looked for him in several places during the last 18 days after he went missing from his room, said the OC.

They found the body in the pond today following the stench of the corpse and informed cops, OC Rois said adding that police recovered the body around 11am.

The body was sent to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
